Connecting to the Massasoit VPN

Issue/Question

  • I am attempting to connect to the new VPN (GlobalProtect) but need directions.

 

Resolution

Requesting Access to the VPN

If you don't currently have VPN access please use the Request access to the VPN service request.

Connecting to the VPN

  1. If the GlobalProtect client is not installed, follow the Installing the GlobalProtect Client guide below. 
  2. Open the GlobalProtect client. 
  3. Enter globalprotect.massasoit.mass.edu as the portal address. 
  4. You should see now be connected. You should now have access to on-campus resources. 

Installing the GlobalProtect Client

  1. Navigate to the GlobalProtect download page at https://globalprotect.massasoit.mass.edu and login.
  2. Select the version that fits your computer. If you are using Windows, select the Windows 64bit agent. If on a Mac, select the Mac agent. 
  3. If you do not have admin rights over your work laptop, please call the Help Desk for the password to install software. 

Troubleshooting the GlobalProtect Client

No Network Connectivity Error

            

  1. To resolve this issue, make sure you're connected to your home internet. Once that is confirmed, click on the three line button at the top of the GlobalProtect error screen and select Settings.
  2. Select the entry in the portal list and press the Delete button. 
  3. Open the GlobalProtect application again and you should be greeted with the Welcome to GlobalProtect screen.
  4. Type in globalprotect.massasoit.mass.edu as the portal address and click Connect.
  5. You should then provide your username and password to sign in.
