Software Resources

Microsoft Applications

  • Office365 applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be downloaded onto mulitple devices by following the directions posted here.
  • Azure Dev Tools provides students with free versions of several dozen popular MS applications, including Visual Studio and SQL Server. Follow the directions at this link to access the software library.

Adobe Creative Cloud

  • An email containing instructions for downloading Adobe CC to your home computer has been sent to students enrolled in certain sections.

GSuite Apps

  • All of Google's Apps for Education remain available through the MyMassasoit portal.

Other Software Titles

  • ITS is continuing to work toward providing additional software titles. As new titles are added this section will be updated.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Guidelines

You do NOT need a VPN account to access these applications through the MyMassasoit portal:

  • Email – both Outlook and Gmail
  • Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive
  • All Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
  • Banner Self-Service (e.g., class rosters and grading)
  • Canvas
  • Degree Works
  • GradesFirst/Navigate
  • Academic Works
  • Maxient
  • Teleconferencing tools, including
    • Skype for Business
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Google Meet
    • Zoom

You will need a VPN account and a College-issued device to access:

  • Banner Admin Pages (ex. SFAREGS, RHACOMM)
  • Banner Document Imaging (BDM)
  • Files saved in a network location (usually this a drive like X: or H:)
    • Moving these files temporarily or permanently to OneDrive can avoid needing a VPN
  • Argos reports

Internet Resources

Keep Americans Connected

  • More than 80 telecommunications companies, including Xfinity and Cox, have signed the Keep Americans Connected Pledge.
    • Companies are opening up their hotspots to non-customers
    • Late fees will be waived
    • Service will not be terminated

Campus Wi-Fi

  • Massasoit-Secure and Massasoit-Guest WiFi networks are both operating normally.

Security Tips

While working or studying remotely, it is more important than ever to practice safe computing. Here are some tips to be safe:

  1. Keep your Zoom meeting safe from party crashers.
  2. Remain vigilant about recognizing phishing and report it immediately by following these directions.

Telephone Resources

Voicemail

  • Employee voicemail has been forwarded to email for most employees. Employees who wish to change this may do so from on-campus by following these steps, or from off-campus by requesting a change
  • Employees may check their voicemail from off-campus by following these directions.

Voice Calls

  • Internal calls can be made using Skype, Zoom, or Meet using the audio-only options.
  • A software phone or softphone can be used to mimic the main extension on your desk phone. Request a softphone by submitting a request form. Please note the requisites listed in the description.
