Account Information & First Time Setup
- To log in to your account for the first time, check your personal email that you provided during the application and enrollment process. The credentials for your student account will be emailed to your personal email. Use these credentials on the MyMassasoit Portal.
- When you log in for the first time, you will be prompted to set up authentication methods for Multi-Factor Authentication as well as Self-Service Password Reset. Multi-Factor Authentication is an extra bit of security on your account that has you put something in other than just your email address and password in order to log in every so often. Self-Service Password Reset is a way for you to be able to reset your password yourself without having to contact anyone at the college and wait in line.
- Your student account will be created and active when you register for classes. Accounts stay active until you haven't been registered for any classes for 4 semesters (2 years). After this point, the account will be disabled and eventually deleted. For more information on how long student accounts stay active, check out this article.
- Your password will expire after one year. At that point, you'll need to reset your password. For more information on our password policies and best practices, click here.
MyMassasoit Portal
The MyMassasoit Portal provides access to all of the systems and services that a Massasoit student needs access to. This includes:
- Canvas, the online learning system at Massasoit. This is basically a virtual classroom that teachers can use as a supplement to their course, where students can submit assignments and get announcements, or as the primary method of teaching the course for online classes. Canvas has discussion boards, one-to-one communication with professors and students, assignment management, announcements, and more.
- Student Email, which is set up through Gmail. This email will be the primary source of official communication from Massasoit. Student email addresses are in the format of yourusername@massasoit.edu. Click on "Massasoit Gmail" in the Launchpad card on the Portal to access the email.

- Registration services such as adding and dropping courses, seeing your schedule, transcripts, and degree audits. To access these services, click on "Student Self-Service" in the Launchpad card on the Portal.
- Financial services such as the health insurance waiver, payment plans, and financial aid. To access these services, click on "Student Self-Service" in the Launchpad card on the Portal.
Download and Install Microsoft Office
Massasoit offers Microsoft Office 365 as a free download for faculty, staff, and active students. It includes the full suite of Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Skype for Business, and OneDrive. It's available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
