Student Account Life Cycle

Issue/Question

  • How long does my access to my Massasoit student account last?
  • When will I lose access to my email, Microsoft Office license, or other services?
  • I graduated a while ago and now I can't log in to my account.
  • What if I need to get back into my account or start taking classes again?

Resolution

Account expiration

Once a student has not been registered for four semesters (2 years), their MyMassasoit account will be disabled and subsequently deleted. This means that students lose access to all Massasoit services once their account is disabled after four semesters of inactivity. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • The MyMassasoit Portal
  • Unofficial Transcripts
  • Microsoft Office 365 license
  • Registration & Financial Services pages
  • Massasoit Email
  • Canvas
  • DegreeWorks

Saving your data

While you have access to your MyMassasoit account, there are ways to save your data and export it so that you can keep it even after you lose access to your account.

Re-admission

If your account has been disabled due to inactivity already but you would like to return to the college to take more courses, you will need to be re-admitted to the college. To do this, you can contact the the Advising, Career and Transfer center by email at ACT@massasoit.edu. If you're on campus, you can visit them in the Student Center building for help.

If your account has been disabled due to inactivity and you are going to be an employee at Massasoit, your account will be converted into an Employee account if it has not been deleted, and a new account will be created for you if it has been deleted.

Temporary re-enable access

If you were using your account when it got disabled for email or other services, ITS can grant you temporary access to your account so that you can log in, retrieve any material you need, and then the account will be disabled again. Typically temporary access to a disabled account lasts one week. Contact the ITS Help Desk for assistance with this. Note: if it has been long enough for your account to be deleted (and not just disabled), we are unable to provide access to your account.
