What to Do After Changing Your Password

Issue/Question

  • What should I do when I change my password?
  • I just changed my password and now my phone's Wi-Fi connection isn't working.
  • My account is locking even though I just reset my password.

Resolution

The College requires that you change your password every 2 years. Below are some steps you may need to take immediately after changing your MyMassasoit password:

  • Update all of the mobile devices that you use to connect to the hillspot secure wireless connection and your Massasoit email account immediately after changing your password. This includes all desktop and laptop computers, as well as smartphones (iPhone, Android, Windows phone), iPads, tablets, eReaders, etc.
  • Failure to update your password immediately could result in your MyMassasoit account being locked out and unable to login to computers on campus, the MyMassasoit Portal, email, or the Wi-Fi network. Devices will try continually to log on with your old password, and our security systems will lock your account after 10 unsuccessful login attempts, which can happen in a matter of seconds when a device is trying to authenticate itself.
