How to Use Temporary Admin Rights

Issue/Question

  • How do I use the Admin rights that I have requested?
  • How long will I have the Admin rights?

Resolution

Please note that this article is for those who have requested rights already. If you need to make a request then do so here: Request Additional Technology Access.

 

Please Note: Admin rights are temporary, and will usually have a lifespan use of about two weeks. Please be sure to double check anything you needed to adjust while using Admin rights within this time period. If additional adjustments or download will be needed after the Admin rights have expired, you will need to submit a new request for Admin rights.

Instructions to use Admin rights

  1. Once you receive your Admin Credentials you will need to first log out of your computer. 

    •  You may want to write the admin Username and password on a sticky note or piece of paper. Once you log out you will not be able to use your email address to see the password.

  2. After logging out of the computer, make sure to log back into the computer as '.\Administrator'. Once you have entered the Admin Username you can enter the temporary password and log into the computer.
  3. Now that you are logged into the computer as an Admin you can make the needed adjustments, and downloads.

What happens next

  • Once all adjustments and downloads have been made, you can log out of the Admin account and back into your personal Massasoit account.
  • Please be sure to test the adjustments and downloads you have made, to make sure everything is set up properly, and according to your need.
  • If there were any issues with the downloads or adjustments, just repeat the previous steps to login as an Admin* and make any further adjustments that are needed.
