How to Set Up Your Student Email on Your Phone

Resolution

 

As a student at Massasoit, your email is hosted by Google on Gmail. To set up the student email on your phone or mobile device, follow these steps:

 

 

Instructions

 

  1. Open the Gmail app on your phone. If you don't have this app already, download it for free: iOS | Android
     
  2. Navigate to "Add account" within the menus. Depending on your version of the app, this may look different:
    • On older versions of the Gmail app (with red menus), tap on the menu button in the top left, then tap on the dropdown on your email address to bring down the menu containing "Add account."
    • On newer versions of the Gmail app (with an all white or dark grey appearance depending on device theme), tap on the profile picture located in the top right corner to bring up the menu containing "Add another account."
       
  3. In the "Set up email" screen, select Google from the list of options. You may need to enter your phone's PIN or passcode to go further.
     
  4. Sign in using your full Massasoit email address (username@massasoit.edu) as well as your password.
    • Depending on your version of Gmail as well as your device, the app may redirect you to a login screen that looks like the MyMassasoit Portal. If it does, simply log in on this screen as you normally would log in to the Portal, using your username and password.
       
  5. After verifying and connecting the email, the app should bring you back to the original screen with the email now set up.
     

You've now set up your student email on your mobile device. After following these steps, it may take a few minutes to fully process and sync up. If it doesn't appear to have set up at first, try closing the Gmail app and opening it again after giving it a couple minutes.

Once you have the email set up, to access it, tap on it from the same menu you accessed to add the account in the beginning in the Gmail app.
