Windows: Using the Shirui EasiCapture application in B546 to record a classroom video file

  • How do I use the Shirui EasiCapture application in B546 (the Professional Development Center) to record a classroom video file?

Resolution

The Shirui EasiCapture application allows you to record live action and Windows Desktop activity (such as lectures and classroom instruction) and save it in a single video file for later replay.

Start EasiCapture

  1. On the Windows Desktop, double click on Capture. You will see the EasiCapture options dialog box.
  2. Click on Record .You will see your Windows Desktop with the EasiCapture Control Panel and recording button instructions.

Set the camera and audio setting.

  1. Click Camera and be sure the LOGI GROUP CAMERA setting is checked. The mounted camera will activate and a thumbnail size live camera screen will appear on the lower left hand corner of your Windows Desktop. You may need to adjust the camera lens to see the room properly.
  2. Click Audio and be sure that ECHO CANCELLING SPEAKER PHONE is checked.
  3. Click Full Screen to record the entire screen.
  4. Click Custom to reset the resolution (if necessary).
  • You can click and drag the camera windows to better position it for recording.
  • You can click and drag the resize handle to size the camera windows up to full screen.

Recording the screen.

  1. Click the Video button or press [F9] to start recording. The audio will be picked up also.
  2. Press [F10] to stop recording.
  • The file will render and you will see the video preview screen. You can play and review the new video before saving.

At the Preview screen. You can save or delete the video, as well as add it the project editor (not explained here). The preview screen includes Play, Pause, Forward and Back controls for your review.

  1. To save the video into a single file, click Export .
  • You will see the Save As dialog box.
  1. You can save the vidio as an .mp4 file.
  • The video will play back on any media player that supports .mp4 files incluing VLC Media Player and Windows Media Player.
