Free access to Office through Massasoit

Massasoit offers Microsoft Office 365 as a free download for faculty, staff, and active students. It includes the full suite of Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook, and OneDrive. It's available for Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. 

 

As long as your Massasoit account is active, you'll have access to all these apps for free. How long you'll have this access varies depending on your Massasoit status:

• Students: Your Massasoit account and Office 365 access stays active for 2 years (4 semesters) after you were last registered for a course. Once 4 semesters have passed since you were last registered, your account is disabled and your access to Office 365 is revoked.
• Employees: Your Massasoit account is disabled and your access to Office 365 is revoked immediately as of your final day employed by the college.

 

 

Instructions - How to download and install Microsoft Office 365

 

1. Click here to get to the Microsoft Office Portal.
    
2. On the Microsoft Sign in page, enter your Massasoit email address. 
    
   • You may receive a prompt asking for which type of account to use. Select "Work or school account." 
     • 
        
3. Enter your Massasoit password when prompted.
    
4. Once you're logged in, click on "Install Office." This will download a file called OfficeSetup.exe to your default download location.

5. Once the file is finished downloading, open it to install Office. 
    
   • You'll see a window come up like this:

6. Once Office 365 has finished installing, you'll be able to find it on your computer by searching for any of the programs, such as Word or Excel, in your applications. 
    
   • On Windows, search for the application in your Start Menu. You can find this search bar at the bottom of your screen in the Task Bar.
   • On MacOS, you can find the applications by opening the LaunchPad (grid icon in your dock) or by opening the Finder and clicking on Applications in the left-hand side menu.
      
7. When opening an Office 365 app for the first time, you'll be prompted to accept an agreement. If you're prompted to sign into an account, use your Massasoit email address and password.
    
8. From here, you've installed Microsoft Office and you're now able to use it as long as your Massasoit account is active!
