Massasoit uses PaperCut to manage its shared printers in places like computer labs and the library. You can send a document to a PaperCut printer from a campus computer or from your own personal device, such as your laptop or phone, then pick it up at any PaperCut printer.
This guide covers where to find printers you can use on-campus, and how to print to them from your personal device, such as your laptop or phone.
In order to follow these steps, you must be an active student or employee at Massasoit.
Printing to a faculty/staff office or department printer? Those printers aren't managed by PaperCut and work differently. You can find instructions on how to use those printers here: How to connect to a shared Xerox department printer

1. How printing works
Printing to a PaperCut printer happens in two parts. First, you send your document to the campus print system from a computer or device. Then you go to a printer and release it, which tells the printer to print it. Your document doesn't print until you're standing at the printer.
1.1 What is PaperCut?
PaperCut is the system Massasoit uses to manage campus printers. It holds your print jobs until you pick them up, keeps track of what you print, and, for students, charges your print balance.
1.2 How secure print release works
When you print, your document goes into a secure waiting area instead of printing right away. You can think of it like a pharmacy pickup counter: your order is ready and waiting, but it's only handed over when you show up and prove it's yours.
This means:
- Your documents stay private. Nobody else can pick up your printout from the tray.
- You can pick up your printout at any PaperCut printer, not just the one closest to where you sent it.
- Nothing prints until you release it, so you won't be charged for a document you forgot about or sent by mistake.
Jobs you don't release are deleted after 24 hours. If that happens and you still need to print it, simply send it again.
1.3 Where are the printers?
PaperCut printers are in the following shared spaces:
- Brockton Campus
- Library in the Student Center (Black & White, Color)
- ARC in the Student Center (Black & White)
- Business building, room B326 (Black & White)
- Canton Campus
- Library (Black & White, Color)
- ARC (Black & White, Color)
More PaperCut printing locations will be made available in the future.

2. Before you start
You'll need:
- Your Massasoit username and password. Printing uses the same username and password you'd use to sign into the MyMassasoit Portal or on-campus computers.
- Students: enough funds in your print balance.
- For more information on how to check or add funds to your balance, you can reach out to the Library or Student Central.
- If you're printing from your own device: a connection to the Massasoit Secure (students and employees) or Massasoit Guest Wi-Fi network on campus.
