- How do I connect to the VPN?
Resolution
Requesting Access to the VPN
In order to connect to the VPN, you'll need to be granted access to it by ITS first. If you haven't already requested VPN access, please use the Request access to the VPN service request.
Connecting to the VPN
- Open the GlobalProtect client on your computer. You can do this by opening your Start Menu and typing "globalprotect" into the search bar.
- If you don't see GlobalProtect on your computer, you may need to install it first using the Company Portal.

- When following the guide, simply search for GlobalProtect in the Company Portal and click Install.
- GlobalProtect will open in a small window in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Enter globalprotect.massasoit.mass.edu as the portal address.

- You may be prompted to log in using the MyMassasoit Portal login page.
- You should now be connected and have access to on-campus resources, such as Banner Pages, while off-campus.
Troubleshooting issues with GlobalProtect
Connection Failed while On-Campus
The VPN is a tool used for accessing on-campus resources while you're off-campus. Essentially, some services and systems can only be used while on-campus, and the VPN makes your device connect to the on-campus network remotely, allowing you to access those services while you're not physically on-campus.
With that, GlobalProtect will only successfully connect to the VPN while off-campus and/or connected to a network outside of Massasoit. If you're on-campus, GlobalProtect saying "Connection Failed" is normal, and doesn't mean that there is a problem.
No Network Connectivity Error

To resolve this issue, ensure that your device is connected to the internet. An internet connection is required in order to use GlobalProtect to connect to the VPN. You may want to quickly try opening your internet browser and navigating to a website to check that you're able to connect without any issues.
Once you've confirmed that you're connected to the internet, you can try following these steps to reset your GlobalProtect profile:
- Click on the three-line menu button at the top-right corner of GlobalProtect and select Settings.
- In the "Connections" section under "Manage Portals," click on the entry listed there to select it, then click on the Delete button.
- If you see multiple entries here, repeat this step until you've deleted all of them.
- Once this section is empty, close out this window.
- Open the GlobalProtect application again. Type in globalprotect.massasoit.mass.edu as the portal address and click
Connect.

- GlobalProtect will now connect to the VPN. It may prompt you to log in using the MyMassasoit Portal login page.
