Eduroam: How do I connect?

How to connect to the Eduroam Wireless Network, used to enable access to WiFi networks at member institutions worldwide.

Body

Eduroam is a worldwide network of institutions allowing you to use the same login you already have to grant you access at member institutions worldwide. 

If you have a user account at one of the member institutions, you can use the wireless networks at any of the member institutions. 

There are no new passwords to learn and it will reconnect automatically.

 

How to connect:

  • Windows

Click the WiFi icon in the taskbar, choose the Eduroam network, then click Connect

If prompted, allow the certificate to continue connecting.

You will then see a username and password prompt.  Your username must be your full email address, for example, yourusername@massasoit.mass.edu.  Your password is the same one used for MyMassasoit and to login to PC's on campus.

That's it!  You will now be connected to Eduroam.

 

  • iOS (iPhone/iPad)

Tap your Settings icon and go to the Wifi settings, or swipe down on your home screen and long press the WiFi icon.

Connect to the Eduroam network.  You will receive a username and password prompt.  It will be in the format of yourusername@massasoit.mass.edu and the same password you use for MyMassasoit or to login to PC's on campus.  

You may then be prompted to Trust a Certificate, choose to do so.  You will now be connected to the Eduroam network.

 

  • Android

Go to you WiFI settings and connect to the Eduroam network

You will be prompted for several options to login, please use the following settings:

  1. EAP Method: PEAP

  2. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2

  3. CA Certificate: (unspecified) or Not Validated
     
  4. Identity (username): yourusername@massasoit.mass.edu
     
  5. Anonymous Identity: leave blank
     
  6. Password: Your password

Click Connect and you will now be connected to the Eduroam network.
