Resolution
Access for Posting Cancellations
- The Office of College Communications and the Division of Academic Affairs – along with their designees – have access to posting cancellations.
- Generally, administrative staff from within each academic division have the ability to submit classes to the monitors to display cancellations on a daily basis.
- Cancellation posting is primarily for classes – administrative staff/academic deans are advised of which classes need to be cancelled on a daily basis.
- The TV displays are one additional way for a notice to be distributed – but Academic Affairs manages additional expectations of faculty and staff to notify impacted students.
- Access is granted via invite to a special Google calendar connected to the REACH CMS platform from the Office of College Communications.
- Follow the steps below.
- Considerations:
- Cancellations should be added as soon as they are known.
- Please take extra care to confirm the correct date(s) for the cancellations.
- If a class is cancelled for more than one day, you must make a separate entry for that specific day. Cancellations are done day by day.
- If a faculty member is cancelling multiple classes and sections, please enter each section individually.
How to post a cancellation
- Log into your “personal” Massasoit Google account. Not a department or divisional email.

- Access the calendar by selecting the Calendar application from the menu on the upper right corner of the screen.

- Using the Calendar interface, press “Create > Event” using the button in the upper left corner of the screen.

- Complete the event with the following fields:
- Enter a title, which should be listed as the class number/section. Ex: “HIST 102-B01” or “MLPO 101-W01” or “TEST 260-J03”(our example)
- Enter the date. Ex: Friday, September 5 - Friday, September 5, 2025
- Check the box “All Day”
- Select the option that reads: “Does not repeat”
- Do not add guests, video conferencing, location, description, or an attachment.
- Most importantly, under the calendar options, select the “Massasoit Class & Event Cancellations” calendar.
- Mark as free and default visibility.
- Press “Save”

- The calendar should automatically update. Click into the event and confirm all of the information is correct.

- To edit a cancellation, click the pencil.

- To delete, click the trash can.
